Put A Bird On It.

So chickas and chickos (? is that right? I have no idea what the masculine version of that is or even if there is one. Can I get a fact check on that please?) If you haven't seen my bird pattern please check it out because you are going to need it for this tutorial. Also last week I published the first bird I made with the pattern so take a look at that yo.
This week it's time to make a bird pin! Woot woot! It reminds me of the episode of Portlandia where they saying "put a bird on it." Enough with the rambling. You aren't here for that or are you...

I suggest using scraps of felt for this bird since it is stiff and will help hold the pin firm. Cut out two of the birds body, one win and one set of tail and wing feathers. Sew the wings onto the bird. You can do all of this by hand if you don't want to use a machine.

Okay so I did some of my steps out of order from what I'm instructing you, but trust me I did it backwards and learned from my mistakes. Next place the two bird bodies together.

Make sure that the wing is facing up. This extra bird body will help stiffen the pin.

Place the feathers on the wing and tail and glue down.

Make two side by side stitches with an embroidery needle or do a french knot to make the eye.

Flip the bird over and hot glue a pin on the back. I just an extra flap from fabric to help hold the pin on.
Ta-da! Now you too can put a bird on it. What are you going to wear your bird pin with?
