If I could explain the thrill of going to a farm to pick your own food while picking pumpkins I would. But those words allude me. Fall is my favorite time of the year. Maybe it's because the world is in transition. Leaves are turning color and everything is preparing for winter. It's the transition from summer to winter. There is a gracefulness to it.
Every year with drive out past Microsoft country to Jubilee farm. Why this farm? Well if you ever met the owner you would be a convert. This man has passion for what he does that can't be faked.
We do tractor pull hayrides and ride wagons pulled by horses.
We chase flying pumpkins. Then feed them to the pigs.
Bear shucks Christmas beans. Willingly. While R and I sit back and taste squash and sip hot cider.
Then we pick pumpkins. Every year we search for the perfect baby pumpkin because Bear "loves babies so baby pumpkins are good too."
Oh and this year we got loads of squash. There was acorn, sugarloaf, spaghetti, and so many more I can't remember the names, but if you would like to see some squash recipes or check this out.
Do you have any Halloween traditions?
